A Family Legacy
Our Story
What started as a family tradition turned into a legacy

The Founders: Victor and Mailagros Valerio
In 1979, Victor and Milagros Valerio opened the first Valerio’s Bakeshop in San Diego, California. As a family of first-generation Filipino immigrants, they wanted to spread their passion for bringing people together around great food. This passion for creating community and sharing their culture was magnetic. Over the following years enjoying Valerio’s pandesal became a cherished tradition in countless Filipino households, a daily ritual that brought comfort and a taste of home. Their commitment to authentic flavors and time-honored recipes made them an essential part of the local Filipino Community.

The Valerio Legacy
Across multiple generations, the Valerio family expanded their legacy. They opened dozens of stores, bringing beloved tastes and comforting scents of home to Filipino communities nationwide. Each store is proudly owned by a member of the Valerio family, ensuring that every time you step into a Valerio’s, you’re warmly welcomed into a piece of Filipino heritage.
